About

The purpose of this blog is to intersect neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy. Unlike the pre-existing topic, biopsychology, this intersectional topic will focus more on the consciousness/philosophy aspect, using biology and cognitive biopsychology to explain experiences that are uniquely human such as hypnosis and psychosis. In contrast, biopsychology generally explains the biology behind processes that are often found in other animals such as sleep, sex, hunger, and pain. This blog aims to explain and comment on peer-reviewed academic journal articles that take on new and interesting questions about the neuroscience of consciousness.

This blog is targeted towards an audience that is mildly familiar with neuroscience with little to no background neither philosophy or psychology. This audience should have some basic knowledge of neuroscience, setting up the neuroscience aspect of the blog as a background, giving a chance to focus on the newer, more elusive topic of consciousness. Since consciousness is not a popular topic, there is no assumption for the reader to have knowledge of this. The blog will focus more on setting a foundation for the consciousness topic while relating it to neuroscience.
